NCAA WAC mens tournament basketball game between the Boise State Broncos and the New Mexico State Aggies at Lawlor Events CenterĀ in Reno, NV.
A special thanks to all of my fellow photographer in Reno that helped make this event so great! Well what can I say I thought I shot my last NCAA basketball game last week but when oppertunity knocks you have to answer the door. I love shooting in Reno, it is where I lived for 3 year during high school. Shooting this game brought back great momeries of shooting with my Canon 10D and my 50mm f/1.8 and Lawlor Events Center is the place where I set up my very first remote. One thing that has not changed is the great people in Reno that are always willing to help you out and you do the same for them.

One of the challenges I faced this game was not having my 70-200mm lens (my favorite basketball lens) with me. I did not have it because I set up a remote camera from overhead (see first photo) and that camera had my 70-200 attached to it. Also, because I flew into Reno I did not pack my full gear. I packed two cameras, three lenses, 3 pocketwizards, and miscellaneous cords and batteries. This meant during the game I either had to shoot with my 300mm lens (very tight) or my 16-35mm lens (very wide). I enjoyed the challenge because it forced me to look at photographing basketball in a different way.
